Rocket Launcher

Materials Needed

1 - 2' X 2' piece of 3/4" plywood
2 - 2' long 2" X 4" boards
1 - metal electrical box
1 - No. 4 test tube stopper
1 - 3" truck valve stem
1 - metal washer
1 - hose clamp
1 - industrial adhesive (E6000 or similar)
1 - 18" - 1/8" metal dowel

Assembly

Nail the 2"X4"s to the edges of the plywood.  This is the base.  Drill a hole through the center of the no. 4 test tube stopper just large enough for the truck valve stem to pass through.  Drill a hole through the plywood and electrical box just large enough for the valve stem.  Stick the valve stem through the stopper, washer, electric box, and plywood.  Use the adhesive to help hold it in place.  Attach the hose clamp to the valve stem sticking through the bottom of the plywood base.  Tighten.

Bend the metal dowel in a U shape.  This is the firing pin.  Slightly warp the firing pin so that when the pin is slid through the holes in the electrical box, it will hold the lip of the plastic bottle down on the test tube stopper.

This launcher will fit 2 liter plastic bottles, or any other bottle with the same size neck.
